What an amazing trip so far!  So much to tell and not enough time or space for it all now so here are a few highlights of the last couple weeks since my last post...

Hi Everybody!  I made it to Europe and my Red Boots Tour has officially started!  I have my red boots with me and I'm realizing my poor boots are getting tired from all the travelling they have been doing with me over the last 6 years (they may even need a band aid or two before this tour is over), but I'm having an amazing time seeing all my favorite sites here in the Netherlands.  I have so much to tell you I hope I can fit it all in during the short time I have to write so here it goes, you might want to hold on to something, it's a whirlwind and I've just started....

A few things I have learned just in my first week of being back in the Netherlands.... Equipment rental means coffee and long chats about politics before deciding what equipment is best for your tour.  There is just as much construction on the roads here as there is back home and that means my GPS and I are having a heck of a time navigating ourselves to and from.  So far in my first week I only managed to make it one place without getting lost.  I hope to get better with my directions.... Spring means tulips everywhere and the most amazing scarves!  And now for a few photos....
Picture
All packed up and ready to roll, even got my last Seattle coffee in hand.  Please notice it is iced because of the sunshine I was about to leave behind...

Picture
Officially in Holland and catching a fast glimpse of my first windmill for this tour.  I've got serious butterflies already multiplying in my belly!  Did I mention I couldn't get my rental car in reverse or the window down to ask for help?

Picture
The view from my keyboard at my first show of the tour at Paddy O'Ryans in Leeuwarden, NL.

Picture
Pay attention gentlemen!

Picture
My view of Cafe Briljant in Haarlem.  I played the house piano, Betsy and got to see some familiar faces from the last couple tours (thank you Ronald!).

Picture
The fabulous audience at Jouke and Rudolf's house concert in Capelle aan den IJssel, NL.  Thank you so much everyone!!!  I had an amazing night!

Picture
My first and only glimpse of Iceland.  Next trip I need to stop and have more time to see this amazing country.

Picture
Beautiful tulips are everywhere!!  This is what they look like when driving by at 120 km.

Picture
The first group of folks to buy my cd.  Thank you Miria, Peter and friends!

Picture
The leaning clock tower in Leeuwarden.

Picture
This is the fabulous Eric Devries who hosts Ramble on Tuesdays, amazing shows in various cities in the Netherlands.  We were performing in the Kargadoor in Utrecht.  I wasn't able to take a photo of the audience because the Kargadoor is below ground and like a cave so it was too dark.  I also learned that Utrecht is very difficult to drive around in.  Even with my GPS (now named Edgar so I can curse at him when he gets me lost) I was turned around for a good hour.  But the view of the city was amazing!

Picture
My Dutch Momma and Poppa took me to the Haarlem flower festival on my day off and it was amazing!  All of these floats are made entirely of flowers.  They smell and look beautiful!

Picture
A really really really big boat going through a very very small canal!  The foot bridges rotate so the boats can go by which is crazy to watch.

Bike riding back "home" with my Dutch Momma and Poppa, Yvonne and Paul Bohme.  Stay tuned for more in part twee (two)...

_We made it!  2011 is over and done already starting to collect cobwebs and dust bunnies and drift back into the dark corners of our memories.  2012 is here all sparkly and vibrant still smelling of things exciting, fresh and utterly new!  I'm so very excited for what this New Year holds and so happy to have you all here on this musical journey with me!  I think this is the year to dance more often, sing at the top of your lungs (even if just in your shower) and let those close to you know how deliciously important they are to your being.   Before I dance away singing songs and spouting words of love and admiration, here is a small glimpse into what can be expected in this first month of our sparkly new 2012...

The head of 2012
I'm sticking close to home for the next few months for shows in and around the state of Washington, but I will be doing a little bit of traveling in March to OREGON which I will announce just as soon as I am able.  And for your folks overseas in EUROPE our spring tour is getting rather full of fabulous shows in venues all over Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.  I'll announce dates in the next couple months.

And with that I thank you all so so so much for being here and for being so so so fabulously and deliciously important to me and my being.  I'm off to summon my biggest and loudest singing voice followed by some serious dance moves (probably something pogo like from the 80's cause I hear the 80's are making a come back). Thank you for reading to the end, thank you for being on this list and thank you for being such an amazing source of inspiration to me.  I feel so very lucky to have such wonderful people to share this musical journey with.

Happy sparkly New Year!

It's December and it's time to break out the snow globes, holiday candles and start baking gingerbread cookes!  With such an amazing last couple months of CD releasing, touring and being oh so happy to be back in the northwest I can't believe we are almost into a new year!  December always feels like a cross between the end of a wonderful love story and the childlike excitement of knowing something exciting is so close you can almost taste it.

But before I try to summon the powers of my favorite super heros to blast into a year of something new, the holidays must be celebrated and we are doing so by offering some stocking stuffer specials and if you are here in Seattle, we've got a couple very unique shows this month. So first I give you the quick trip across the way with the winding and curving scenic route to follow...

Stuff your stockings with something made with love or by a local
Friday, 12/9 Tom Waits Tribute show at the Conor Byrne
Friday, 12/23 Holiday Hootenanny at St. Clouds

My dear friend Camille is releasing her new CD this month at the Columbia City Theater on November 12th.  I'll be there, I hope some of you will join me!

I did manage to snap a few pics while on the road.  Here are a few pics and tidbits just for you.....

Rain followed me from Seattle all the way to Laguna Beach, California.  I'm so so sad to have missed the ocean down there.  Fortunately the rain cloud that hitched a ride with me from Seattle moved along before I left California.
