European Red Boots Tour Part Een (one) 04/24/2012
Hi Everybody! I made it to Europe and my Red Boots Tour has officially started! I have my red boots with me and I'm realizing my poor boots are getting tired from all the travelling they have been doing with me over the last 6 years (they may even need a band aid or two before this tour is over), but I'm having an amazing time seeing all my favorite sites here in the Netherlands. I have so much to tell you I hope I can fit it all in during the short time I have to write so here it goes, you might want to hold on to something, it's a whirlwind and I've just started.... A few things I have learned just in my first week of being back in the Netherlands.... Equipment rental means coffee and long chats about politics before deciding what equipment is best for your tour. There is just as much construction on the roads here as there is back home and that means my GPS and I are having a heck of a time navigating ourselves to and from. So far in my first week I only managed to make it one place without getting lost. I hope to get better with my directions.... Spring means tulips everywhere and the most amazing scarves! Spring is here and it is a flurry of activity here in Carrie Clark & the Lonesome Lover land! So much of a flurry that I'm starting to feel like the tazmanian devil from the bugs bunny cartoons whirling about amongst bookings, promotions, rehearsals and tour planning. We made it! 2011 is over and done already starting to collect cobwebs and dust bunnies and drift back into the dark corners of our memories. 2012 is here all sparkly and vibrant still smelling of things exciting, fresh and utterly new! I'm so very excited for what this New Year holds and so happy to have you all here on this musical journey with me! I think this is the year to dance more often, sing at the top of your lungs (even if just in your shower) and let those close to you know how deliciously important they are to your being.
