After all the sparkly excitement of January, February is a quiet kind of cozy in our pajamas next to the fireplace for Carrie Clark & the Lonesome Lovers.  So, this is a quick note just to tell you how much you are appreciated and that we love you very much!  If you are the long term planning type, well then we have a couple shows coming up in March and April that I wanted to give you extra warning about since they are rather unique....  

Saturday, March 3rd Greg and i will be performing an acoustic set at the Kirkland Public Library. 
This show is for all ages and is absolutely free!  We play from 2pm to 3pm and we hope you will join us.  Bring the kiddos and your pretty voices so you can sing along.

Friday, March 23rd CD Release in Corvallis, Oregon. 
The Lonesome Lovers and I will be performing at Bomb's Away Cafe in Corvallis to celebrate the release of "Between the Bed Sheets & Turpentine"  I hope all you folks back at home can join us!

Friday, April 6th the Lonesome Lovers and I will be hopping a ferry to Orcas Island to perform at the Doe Bay Resort in the Yoga Studio. 
Not only is the show free and for all ages, but if you make the trek up to Doe Bay to see us and stay at the resort you can get 25% off your accomodations.  All you have to do is let them know you are coming to see us.  This also goes for food in the cafe.  Mention that you are there to see Carrie Clark & the Lonesome Lovers and you'll receive a discount on your meal.  Not a bad deal and what a beautiful place to hang out for music.  Join us if you can, we'll be there all weekend!  For reservations http://www.doebay.com

]]><![CDATA[A sparkly happy New Year to you!]]>Thu, 05 Jan 2012 16:32:05 -0800http://www.carrieclark.com/1/post/2012/01/a-sparkly-happy-new-year-to-you.html_We made it!  2011 is over and done already starting to collect cobwebs and dust bunnies and drift back into the dark corners of our memories.  2012 is here all sparkly and vibrant still smelling of things exciting, fresh and utterly new!  I'm so very excited for what this New Year holds and so happy to have you all here on this musical journey with me!  I think this is the year to dance more often, sing at the top of your lungs (even if just in your shower) and let those close to you know how deliciously important they are to your being.   Before I dance away singing songs and spouting words of love and admiration, here is a small glimpse into what can be expected in this first month of our sparkly new 2012...

The head of 2012
I'm sticking close to home for the next few months for shows in and around the state of Washington, but I will be doing a little bit of traveling in March to OREGON which I will announce just as soon as I am able.  And for your folks overseas in EUROPE our spring tour is getting rather full of fabulous shows in venues all over Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.  I'll announce dates in the next couple months. 

And with that I thank you all so so so much for being here and for being so so so fabulously and deliciously important to me and my being.  I'm off to summon my biggest and loudest singing voice followed by some serious dance moves (probably something pogo like from the 80's cause I hear the 80's are making a come back). Thank you for reading to the end, thank you for being on this list and thank you for being such an amazing source of inspiration to me.  I feel so very lucky to have such wonderful people to share this musical journey with.

 If you are a Tom Waits fan, this night is just for you.  Dave and I will be joining a host of Seattle bands performing nothing but Tom Waits tunes.  Show starts at 9pm, we go on late late at 1am, but just check out this list of performers.... Armitage Shanks (Circus Contraption), Liquor & Convenience, Erin McNamee, Randall A. Walker, Erin Jordan, Ben Newton, Dan Yost, Clayton Ballard, The Bland Department and Kris Kendziorski.  It's going to be an amazing night of all things Tom Waits.

Rain followed me from Seattle all the way to Laguna Beach, California.  I'm so so sad to have missed the ocean down there.  Fortunately the rain cloud that hitched a ride with me from Seattle moved along before I left California.

Driving from Scottsdale to Bosque Farms, New Mexico is a long, long, long way...  Thank goodness for new CDs from Head and the Heart, Bon Iver, Beirut, Camille Bloom, the Arcade Fire and the ability to tune into NPR in almost any town.  I might have gone a bit stir crazy if I didn't have such amazing music to listen to.  I do know all the mentioned CDs by heart now....

It's started, can you feel it?  That rumble of excitement and goodness that precedes the release of something new?  It's like millions of butterflies about to take flight all at once and you start to feel it in your stomach just before it all begins.  Those butterflies have been building in my belly for well over a year now and I feel as though I am just about to burst!  It all starts Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Columbia City Theater with the official release of Between the Bed Sheets & Turpentine!  Advance tickets are available now through Brown Paper Tickets.  And for those of you in Arizona, California and New Mexico I'll be headed your way in October for a flurry of shows celebrating this fourth release.  For those of you in Europe we'll be headed your way in April and May.
