Happy sunny July!
Ok, mostly sunny if you don't count the fall like weather we are soaking in today.  I've been enjoying all this (mostly) amazing sunshine and fabulous weather and learning where all the cool kiddo water parks in Seattle are hiding. And I'm learning that not only does my little guy love water, he loves running.  Yes, his walking quickly moved to running so now he runs everywhere.  And I mean everywhere.  So before he wakes up and starts our mini marathon of the day, I wanted to give all you folks here in and around Seattle a big reminder that the Lonesome Lovers and I are opening for my good friend, Kellee Bradley's CD release party this Saturday night at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Seattle.  For those of you who like discounts, advance tickets are available for $10 here http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=4210004 or you can pay $13 at the door.  Doors open at 8pm and the Lonesome Lovers and I go on first at 9pm.

This is our only band show until this winter so I very much hope you can join us this Saturday.  It's going to be a wonderful celebration and to be absolutely honest, I miss all of you!  I don't get out much these days and I would love to see as many of your beautiful and handsome faces as humanly possible.

Please note!  The Torchlight Parade is also this Saturday so if you are planning to come to the show (or the parade and then our show), be sure to get downtown early or take the bus, a taxi, carpool or walk. We'll be there early so join us for a pre-show cocktail.

I hear my little guy waking from his nap, so I'm off and running.  Thank you all for being here with me and thank you for letting me into your day for a few precious moments.  I am a lucky girl to have you all on this adventure with me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
smooches!

Happy summer!
It's here, the sun, spreading her rays and warming our bones making us all feel giddy like kids in a candy store.  I've been enjoying some down time after my first tour since becoming a Momma last month.  It was amazing, wonderful, fulfilling and hard to be away from home.  I enjoyed visiting with old and new friends, wearing earrings AND a necklace and clothes that didn't require access for feeding a baby.  I learned that there are no changing tables in rest stops (at least none in Oregon and California) so the front seat of the car works great when a baby needs a cleaning.  I also learned that the heart is a very fragile thing especially when leaving your child for the first time and goodbyes are just as hard the second time.  This is the first tour where I performed more house concerts than venues and while I've had various challenges in the past with room "ambiance" while performing, this tour topped it with a mariachi band and ice cream truck (thank you Oakland), motorcycle brigades, fireworks, and my personal favorite, a peacock.  If you've never heard the sound a peacock makes you should Google, wiki, you tube it.  I think it is one of the more challenging sounds to work into a song, but also one of the most comical.  I will say this particular peacock had impeccable timing.  And the hardest lesson I seem to have to re-learn every time I make this trip is never EVER leave your windows or vents open south of Sacramento.  The. Smell. Is. Terrible.

Since being back home, I've had lots of time with Ryder and my fabulous hubby and sprinkles of time to book my Europe tour this fall and shows here in Washington through the end of the year.  I may have missed a few deadlines this year (I am not sure what could have distracted me - his name could start with an R....) so our summer schedule is really quiet, but we do have one show here in Seattle and it's a special one.  My good friend, Kellee Bradley, is releasing her first album in 9 years and the Lonesome Lovers and I are going to join her for this very special celebration. The show is Saturday, July 26th so mark your calendars and if you are a planner aheader, buy your tickets now.  I included the link below.

And speaking of summer and sunshine, I'm off to take my little guy to the park and get him some playtime before his nap time.  Thank you all for allowing me into your day, I know that time is precious for all of us and I appreciate you being here reading this with me.  Now get out there and get your summer on!

Happy March!
Looks like spring is going to come in wet and soggy here in the northwest so we are certain to have a green and lush summer with loads of sunshine and warm weather.  Well in my mind, that's what all this rain is for.  That and for cozy nights with yummy food by candle light and music against a starlit background.  Like enjoying a show at the Triple Door  which you can do tonight!  Greg and I are performing an acoustic set opening for the fabulously charming Korby Lenker.  Greg and I are playing a pretty set with a few surprises and did I mention my little guy Ryder will be there? Greg and I open the show at 7:30pm sharp, Korby goes on at 8:30pm and the show will be over by 9:30pm giving you time to get home and to bed before it gets too late.  We love playing the Triple Door with all it's beauty and glamour so we very much hope you can join us.

That's all for now, Momma's got to go shine up her boots and warm up her voice for tonight's show!
Happy soggy spring!

Happy love month and Happy Happy Birthday to all my fellow Aquarians!
I heart February!  Not only because it is my birthday month and that 2 of the four lonesome lovers are also Aquarians (Happy Birthday Dave and Greg!), but also because it is a short little month usually sparked with unpredictable weather, a charge in the air and then just like that, spring comes bounding around the corner.  I've been putting in a lot of Momma hours and when I'm not chasing after a nearly walking 10 month old, I'm booking a SW tour for May and a Europe tour for October!  I feel like I need some super-powered-multi-tasking-blasto-mega-something-or-other to keep my head on straight.  I have managed to only lock myself out of the house and my car once (fortunately with baby in my arms, not locked inside) and I've only forgotten to leave the house with non-essential clothing items (i.e. all my bits were covered) so overall I think I am doing pretty well in this new split role of Momma and Musician.

And speaking of music, I wanted to be sure all you folks in and around Seattle know about this very glamorous event happening next month so please oh please save the date......

This show is exactly one year from my last show at the Triple Door when I was 8 months pregnant and felt I could pop at any moment.  Korby Lenker is a bow tie donning, ukulele playing songwriter who used to live here in Seattle and is now residing in Nashville.  Greg and I will be up first at 7:30pm and we'd love to see you all there.  Do get your tickets ahead as word has it, the show is starting to reach capacity.

I hear my little man waking up from his nap so I must run. Thank you for being here on this list and for reading all the way to the end.  I adore and appreciate you all so so very much!  Happy February and don't forget to hug your favorite Aquarian.  I'll be taking and giving Aquarian hugs at the Triple Door on March 3rd)! smooches!

Happy February and Happy Happy Birthday to all my fellow Aquarians! Yes, I love February!  Not only because it is my birthday month but also because it is a short little month usually sparked with unpredictable weather, a charge in the air and then just like that, spring is just around the corner.  This month my hubby and I had a pre-baby vacation in Hawaii where we basked in sunshine with our toes in the sand watching humpback whales dancing on the horizon.  It was peaceful and relaxing and I'm finding that between my bouts of pure panic that someone in the very near future will call me Mom, I also feel a sense of excitement that this little life inside of me is going to change my world in a lot of very wonderful ways.

Our show countdown to Mommy world is getting smaller by the day so I'll get right to it and let you know where we'll be in the next few weeks.  For those of you near Seattle, don't forget to mark your calendars for our last show here at the Triple Door on Sunday, March 3rd.  Tickets are available now and I highly suggest getting yours ahead (see link below). You wouldn't want to miss out on seeing this belly which is sure to be quite sizable by then (remember earlier when I mentioned the whales?).

Happy sparkly new year everyone! I don't know what it is like in your neck of the woods, but the northwest has been extra sunny sparkly in the beginning of this brand spanking new year!  I hope you all enjoyed the holidays with your nearest and dearest and are feeling the rejuvenation and excitement that comes with the beginning of something new.   There is definitely a spark of excitement in our world and it takes shape of a very special little side project I have been working on the last few months that I'd like to tell you all about.  Drum roll please.........

I've got a bun in the oven and my hubby and I are very excited to meet this little bundle of joy in April.  How's that for a little news and excitement!  I'm nervous, excited, anxious, overwhelmed, excited, nervous did I mention a bit anxious?  In preparation for our little bundle of love, I'll be playing just a few select shows close to home and then I will be taking a few months to get ready for our little guy to arrive (yup! Hi folks, I apologize for the added newsletter this month, but so much has been added and changed that I didn't want you to miss a thing!  First and foremost a little bad news, Jill Cohn has come down with a terrible cold and will not make the show this Friday at Egan's.  The good news, my fabulously talented friends, Sue Corcoran and Vincent Gates (aka The Von Piglet Family Players) have offered to jump in so they will be joining me instead!  You'll love their songs, their fabulous harmonies and who knows, if you ask nicely, it's possible we could be persuaded to sing you a few old songs from the Looking for Sailors days :)  Please join us, it's going to be a really wonderful night!

And these two shows just added!!
For you radio fans, I'll be performing on KBCS 91.9FM Bellevue at 2pm Friday afternoon before the show.  Listen in!  http://kbcs.fm

Saturday, I'll be crossing over to the east side of the bridge, to open for my friends, the Side Project, for their CD release party at Top Shelf Broiler (formerly Olive You).

Venue details and information follow below and I very much hope to see your smiling faces this Friday, Saturday or sometime very very soon!  Oh yes!  And one last thing, please tell your friends.  The more the merrier!
