I hope your holidays were fantastic and amazing filled with family, good friends and lots of holiday cheer. I had a beautiful tour in Europe including extra time with my hubby, Damon and our little guy Ryder who joined me over there so we could have some family time and visit friends. Since returning home I've also been clearing the cobwebs trying awaken my creative muse that has been on a long hiatus. I love being a Momma, I love being a Musician and the two are very difficult to pull off together. My muse has slowly been making her way back into my life and I want to nourish her which in turn nourishes me and I think that makes me better at both being a good Momma as well as a good Musician. So this year, my focus is to put the business side of music on pause a bit so I can put more focus in the creative part of my being and write some new songs.
Of course, you know me, I can't entirely keep from performing so to kick off the new year, Dave Pascal and I are headed to Bellingham this Wednesday night to open for the lovely Useful Jenkins at one of my all time favorite venues, the Green Frog Acoustic Tavern. Dave and I open the show at 8pm so come early and join us for grilled cheese and whiskey. It is also my hubby, Damon's, birthday, need I say more?
It's been a wild and sometimes scary ride the last few months and I'm trying really hard to focus on the good that can be done. I'm teaching Ryder to lead with love and kindness because every one of us is unique in our own way and that uniqueness is beautiful and should be celebrated. Maybe if we can all remember to lead with love and kindness first, we may find we have a lot we can learn from each other.
Until I see you again, I hope you dance more often, sing at the top of your lungs (even if just in your shower) and let those close to you know how deliciously important they are to your being.
You are all so very important to me and I thank you for being here on this musical journey with me, without you, I couldn't do what I do and I am so incredibly grateful.
