Great Women of Folk & Country-Pride Edition June 4th!

May is on her way out with June waiting just around the corner. Flowers are blooming, Mother Nature is keeping us on our toes with spring weather shifting from sun to rain to wind to clouds and hit repeat in 5 minutes. It’s sweater, skirt and tank top weather all rolled into one. To get summer started (a little early) I will be behind the piano at the Royal Room to help kick off the first show of The Great Women of Folk and Country series on Thursday, June 4th. This first show is our Pride Edition featuring local artists Archer, Carly Ann Calbero, Tara Craig, Stacy Jones, and K. Van Petton who will be performing the music of Brandi Carlile, Indigo Girls, k.d. lang, Tracy Chapman, Brandy Clark, and more!! Sue Quigley curates and performs in the show and I will be leading the band with fellow musicians, Sherri Jerome (bass), Sheridan Riley (drums) and Georgia T (guitar). You may also want to mark your calendar for Thursday, July 9th when Lonesome Lover guitarist extraordinaire, Greg Fulton, will take the band leader role for the Great Women of Folk and Country featuring the music of Trailblazers: Carole King, Joan Baez, Odetta, Dusty Springfield, and Bonnie Raitt.

And for our friends in the south, mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 26th when the Lonesome Lovers and I continue our annual outdoor summer show at the Quarterdeck in Des Moines, Washington. Always all ages and always good fun!

Thank you for reading to the end of this newsletter and thank you all so very much for being on this musical journey with us. Without you, we couldn’t do what we do. Thank you thank you thank you!

Smooches,

Carrie
